Horizon360™ User Guide

Routes

This article will show you how to create and schedule Routes in Horizon360. Routes are used to hold a group of jobs that have at least one matching service (i.e. weekly Mowing).

You can create Routes for Regular & Contracted Jobs or for OnDemand Jobs. Since OnDemand Jobs are built to recur as-needed and not on a consistent schedule like Regular Jobs, you cannot create a Route that holds both Regular and OnDemand Jobs.

Routes will be under the Unscheduled Routes list on the Schedule screen for you to easily add to the schedule. Let's start by adding a new Route.
Jump to:

Adding Routes

1.
Under Scheduling > Routes, click Add Route
2.
Add a Name for this Route
3.
Add a Description for this Route if needed
4.
Select whether this route will hold Regular or OnDemand jobs
5.
Use the Services field to filter for Jobs with that Services
Note: If you add more than one Service filter, only jobs that have at least the same services will be listed. For example, adding Mowing & Weeding to the filters will display all jobs that have at minimum mowing & weeding services assigned, but jobs with mowing & trimming would not be displayed. At least one Service filter must be assigned to each route.
6.
Add Jobs to the Route by either clicking "Add" next to the Job in the list or "Add to Route" once clicking the Job pin on the Map
7.
Click Route to see the Jobs that have been added to this Route
8.
Use the "3-Bar" icon to drag & rearrange the order of the Jobs
9.
Click the "X" to remove a Job from the Route
10.
Click Add Another OnDemand Job to add another Job to this Route (Note: This option allows you to select an On-Demand Job already created; it does not allow you to create a new On-Demand Job)
11.
The map will display a preview of the Route you have set
12.
Total Estimated Time & Total Route Price will be added for all Jobs in the Route
13.
Click Save to finish adding your route

Route Optimization

Route Optimization allows you to set a Starting & Ending address for a route and have Horizon360 calculate the shortest distance or shortest time through Google Maps.

Route Optimization is available as an add-on to the Premium tier or included with the Unlimited tier.
1.
When editing or creating a route, click Optimize Route
2.
Select a Starting & Ending Address for the route (Note: You can select the address of one of the jobs within the route or type a different address [i.e. your shop location])
3.
Select whether you want to optimize the route based on the Shorter Distance or Shorter Drive Time
4.
Click Optimize to run the route through Google Maps
5.
The distance or drive time between jobs will be listed on the map
6.
Click Save to finish Optimizing your route

Scheduling Routes

1.
From the Schedule screen, select Routes from the right menu
2.
Unscheduled Routes will always be listed in the "UNSCHEDULED" section for you to easily add to the schedule (Note: If an OnDemand Job is part of a Route, it will be listed as a stand-alone OnDemand Job as well as within the Route itself to allow you to schedule the ODJ independently of the Route if needed)
3.
Click the Edit pencil next to the Route you wish to schedule
4.
Details of the Route will be listed
5.
Select the Start Date for the Route (what day are you scheduling this route)
6.
Choose the Route Start Time (will pre-fill if using the drag & drop method)
7.
Select the Crew assigned to this Route (employees and equipment will auto-fill based on current crew assignments)
8.
Jobs assigned to the Route will be listed below
9.
Click Save to schedule this Route
Note: If you pre-select the Crew at the top of the schedule screen, the route will automatically be added when you drag & drop it onto the schedule. See video below:
10.
Once you save the Route, all of the Jobs within that Route will be added to the Schedule
a.
In this example, we scheduled an OnDemand Route. OnDemand Routes will always retain an "Unscheduled" copy of the route instance to allow you to schedule the route as-needed instead of a consistent recurring schedule.
You have now successfully added Routes to your schedule. For more scheduling help, see the Scheduling user guide.
